Hello everyone ! I'm new on the forum, but I've known this great site for a little while and I just wanted to introduce myself.

I am french (so I apologize if I make mistakes, don't hesitate to tell me if I do), 19 years old, and I've been a Nolan fan for about 4 years now. I am passionate about cinema and I am studying to become a film-maker. What else, well, I love music : film scores of course (Hans Zimmer, John Murphy, Clint Mansell...), but also rock (Foo Fighters, Staind, Nine Inch Nails...), but I don't play, I just listen. ^^
And I love video-games, in fact I am what you could call a geek :-D

new person question!

is there a number of posts one must achieve before we can send PMs?

also, i noticed that a mod had edited together two of my posts which i had made right after each other in the same thread - is that considered a double post around here, even though the content of both posts was not duplicated? just trying to wrap my head around the rules 'round here. i've administered a forum since 2006, so i'm so used to my own forum rules it's hard to change my behavior for use on a different forum.

ETA: okay, i got a PM with my answers, but i swear i cannot reply (my only option is to delete). when i try to compose a new message from scratch, all i see is "No messages" and the normal compose area isn't showing up. i seriously am not an idiot and have sent thousands of PMs on other forums before! could there be something wrong with my inbox? i can post screenshots, if necessary.

Regarding double posting: is posting consecutively after yourself. Especially if it is in the time-frame you can still edit the previous post. In your case, it was outside that time, so I edited it anyway (kinda a pet peeve), but no warning for you since you're a noob.

Regarding PMs: Um, I'm not sure but you probably have to post more to enable your pm's. Why are you so desperate to PM? because this limit was enabled for the purpose of preventing spamming... :think:

i was going to PM my question about double posting to you, instead of posting it publicly. and when i found i couldn't PM, i just wanted to make sure it was a normal newbie rule thing, and not an actual problem with my account. i don't need to send any PMs, now, so hopefully everything will be enabled when i do eventually want to PM someone again.

thanks again for your help. like i said, i've been a forum admin for years, and boy do i understand about pet peeves! :judge:

Just registered, although I've been lurking for a month or two to see what the environment is like. I, too, am an aspiring filmmaker/novelist. Thankfully, I'm already 10 years into novel writing, so I'm familiar with story, characters, etc.
