What books regarding filmmaking would you recommend?

I'm gonna buy:

And I'm thinking of

as well, but I need some opinions first.

What do you guys think? :)

Currently, I'm reading Tales from Development Hell, and The Greatest Sci-Fi Movies Never Made. Not exactly, the most helpful for film-making, but they have projects in them that are to admire and learn from.

Syd Field's Screenplay: the foundations of screenwriting is really good.

I second the Syd Field recommendation and adding Robert McKee's 'Story'

I was thinking about that as well, but I'm still a little hesitant. Does it describe the filmmaking process or what? What's it about in short?

And thanks to the others. I'll check them out.

Has anyone read Save the Cat? I'd like some opinions :modesty:
