I don't really want to open a new thread for this, although it isn't really related to the original post (but is related to aspiring filmmakers). On Monday this big Israeli movie was filming in my dad's house.. It's by some famous director here (but don't think anyone would know him abroad). The cinematographer is German though (Fred Kelemen). I spent the day "on the set" (at my dad's house lol) which was a really exciting experience. There were around 100 people - actors/extras and crew - there. One of the three scenes they shot even included a massive crane for the camera.. They were there from 2pm til 4am, for three, 2-minutes scenes. What excited me most though is that they shot on film, not digital. They even made a little dark room for it. The producer told me the camera is worth 100,000euros and that they had to fly abroad to get the film rolls for it as there's none left in Israel!
Next Monday they film at my dad's office (as he's one of the few businessmen left in this country who actually support the art and culture) so I'm going again. I'd happily spend 14 hours and more of every day on a set. I loved it.
