damn, what camera is that?

Thanks btw, I'm going to figure that out first. I do know someone who's got a Fujica Single 8 P300

Have you got any links to your work Chek? Rather interested huehue
A7s me thinks

regards to Super 8, i have a Canon Autozoom 814 and i like it

a7s with a pix e5 that makes it 500% more functional (i srsly wouldn't even trade this combo for a red camera i love it so). the cage and batteries i just got but am more excited about them than most things in life

that recorder allows you to output 4k at 422, right? what does it shoot without the recorder?

i'll be shooting a film next month that we're probably using an a7s for

1080 4:2:0. i use the pix mostly as a monitor. it only does prores which have huge files and imo 4k doesn't matter unless you're doing effects stuff

yeah we won't be doing effects stuff

was thinking of shooting 4k and finishing at 1080p ProRes for the master, but you're right the quality difference probably isn't worth the file size for a run n gun film school project

why not use '''the cloud'''?

why not use '''the cloud'''?
-you don't get enough space (1hr of 4k is ~350 gigs)
-even if you did youd have to upload all the footage
-you can't edit from the cloud
-if literally anything happens to your data there's nothing you can do

Damn.

But final point applies to hard disks too. :(

if a drive gets fucked you have the ability to attempt to recover the data

if the footage disappears from your cloud or there was an issue uploading or downloading your footage or google suddenly wants to charge you more what are you going to do?
