Yeah it seems like he's playing politics...cosigning 3D. I mean he even says Avatar was unpredictable. Really? And I didn't think he was being very articulate about film making here. I got the impression he was keeping it extremely basic and on the surface.

He didn't say Avatar was unpredictable. He says you didn't know what to expect which is true. It wasn't based on anything already published. Nearly all of the comparisons people made with Avatar came after they saw it.

I don't know why you say that he embraced the 3D technology. He just mention that "it's great", which is I think just a protocol answer. After that he said that he doesn't like to shoot on video, so I'm not afraid that he's going to shoot Batman 3 in 3D :D

Great interview. Nice find courney :D

I'm looking forward to hearing more stuff like this from the cast now that the concept is out and (i'm assuming) they'll be able to say more now.

Yea, but he kind of sounded interested in post-conversion.

But maybe he was just being diplomatic, like apw said.

I just hope he doesn't, I can't stand 3D. Especially post-conversion 3D.

It's basically a political response in light of WB's new 3D plan. He's trashing 3D without explicitly trashing 3D.

And that's the first time I've heard Emma speak.

Never seen the special features for Batman Begins?

I fully agree. Thank goodness this man has a similar view on 3D to mine. He's my favorite director and it's very cool that he wants to use high resolution formats. That is a nice luxury to have. But I cannot stand wearing glasses during a 3D movie. When I saw Avatar, my peripheral vision kept picking up the fact that the glasses were sitting on my nose. Bothered the hell out of me and distracted me from what was actually going on in the film.

Batman 3 MAY get a post conversion of 3D, because WB is going 3D crazy, but this will not effect how Nolan and Pfisher shoot the film. IMAX? Yes, most likely for some scene's but definitely not the entire film. However I think it would be great if he could talk WB into letting him shoot the majority of the film in 65mm, some in IMAX, and for some select scenes if needed, 35mm film. I don't see shooting in 35mm to be special, because 90% of all Hollywood movies are shot on 35mm. However, as Nolan stated it is still the highest quality practical format to shoot on.

I wear glasses then on top of that I had to wear the 3D glasses when I saw Avatar. Man I was pissed that day! I'll never watch a film in 3D ever again.
