All fans don't do fanfic. So you can't call this a fandom thing. Perhaps it's a fanfic thing?

I was just wondering if anyone else thought Eames was gay? I've been going on for MONTHS about how Arthur and Eames make a much better couple than Arthur and Ariadne. And I've read people's theories that Eames might possibly be a gay man? Some people's 'evidence' is quite supportive. One evidence is how Cobb and Eames are discussing inception and Eames awkwardly says 'the relationship with the father' and Cobb nods knowingly. Of course, not all gays have bad relationships with their parents (I'm gay) and there's also signs of Eames' constant flirtation with Arthur. Does anyone else think he's gay? Thanks!

No disrespect, but your thinking is totally incorrect. Eames is not gay.

I'd just like to say that I have nothing against homosexuality, but I don't think he's gay for these two reasons:

1) After Fischer gets shot and Cobb says that the mission has failed, Eames says 'this doesn't mean I don't get to see my family again?' either that means he's talking about his children or his parents. If he's talking about children, then he can't really be gay, if he's talking about his parents - well, at least it clears up the thing about gay people-parent relationships.

2) The blond girl (Talulah Riley). Eames must've known her fairly well, and that smirk on his face when he says he's used her before is very meaningful... plus she's so good looking, I'd do her if I could.

Now, when Eames says 'Well it isn't me that doesn't get back to my family is it' I read not to be a literal commentary on his own situation - but as a reminder to Cobb of what is at stake for him. (This implies of course that the whole story is a means to get Cobb to 'come back to reality' which is something you can take or leave)

The blonde in the hotel, I think Eames has 'used before' in the sense of using as a disguise.

On that note, let us explore the reaction of Saito when the blonde confronts him in the lift and he realises it's Eames after all. He's so obviously 'in denial' and, given the opportunity later might well have 'come out'... perhaps after they got off the plane... gay fan-fiction fodder here.

I don't think Eames is gay either, but I must point out that some gay people have children, either from a previous relationship, adoption, etc. So that's no "evidence".
