or else it wont excite anybody

the regular movie goer has no clue, what inception is...so they can introduce it like they did dark knight

From Christopher Nolan
Director of The Dark Knight

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio
Ellen Page
Marion Cotillard
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Michael Caine

that alone would get most people fairly interested

don't forget that the movie is 11 months away and there will probably be at least 2 more trailers.
That would be so boring, we have known that information for months now. We need more info. D:

Sure we know, but 95% of the people going to theaters don't.

I think it might be a bit optimistic to think a trailer rushed together with footage from a movie that has only been filming a matter of weeks could be amazing.

From what we know, they haven't done anything the location shooting (Morocco and Cananda). They are always epic shots in trailers.

The trailer isn't necessarily being rushed together. And 2 months of filming means quite a bit of footage at their disposal.

Principal photograph only started on the 13th July (not including the short Tokyo shoot)

It doesn't sound like they have been shooting for 2 months solid.

We know for sure they have filmed in Japan with both the protagonist and the antagonist. They might have a really cool conversation between the two of them and that would make for awesome teaser footage.
