I hear people are not allowed to say "Yes, I watched this film. It's awesome!!!" :)

I was driving home from Sydney CBD tonight and there's a huge Inception Billboard on Princes Highway. Almost ran myself off the road!

Problem is, this total writeoff's $100+M losses will eat into the profits that Chris Nolan's Inception will make for the studio this summer.

Even Nikki Finke has a soft spot for Inception. She normally just attacks everything.

She likes Nolan. She knows he's one of the few mainstream writer/directors that manages to balance good storytelling with big budget spectacle. Hell, she has to cover the other 95% of garbage being pumped out by Hollywood every week.

Big budget Hollywood. The guy has directed two Batman movies, has a summer tentpole coming out this year with a huge budget, will direct a third Batman movie, and is producing a new Superman movie. That's the very definition of mainstream filmmaking.
