He should.

It would piss me off if he did something like this, he is capable of far better things than a romantic comedy.

But a romantic comedy can be as great as any other film depending on how it is executed. For example classic Woody Allen films like Manhattan or Annie Hall (These are considered some of the best films of all time), Paul Thomas Anderson did it with Punch Drunk Love and Tarantino has also stated that he has plans on doing a romantic comedy which would be awesome imo.

I am not saying those aren't great movies, but when you compare them to Inception, Prestige, Memento they don't hold up IMO. Although Nolan would do something creative, and most likely original with that genre still would rather see something else.

Yeah, I am not saying it is what I want him to do next or anything. I would just like to see him make an amazing film in every genre as it would be very impressive to nail every genre.

excluding the Batman films, Nolan has been fairly diverse: Following-noir-type; Memento-noir type Insomnia-police procedural Prestige-period drama; Inception--sci-fi/heist. I'm confident he'll have a very diverse film catalogue before his career is over.

That movie is absolutely, positively terrible. The most overrated piece of garbage I've ever seen. Whedon has been on the decline since Serenity.

I would love to see Nolan tackle a western, but I wouldn't want it to be a western set in the old west. I would like to see him do what Tarantino did in Inglorious Bastards (I know I spelled it correctly...), when he put a spaghetti western in the context of Nazi-occupied France. I would want a western taken out of its element.

Or maybe he can just do Jonah Hex?
