Could anyone give me a short intro of this series/movie phenomenon? Only heard of the title and looking through on wikipedia will take me a while.

1950's TV show. Each episode built around a different, usually supernatural, event. Like a creature destroying an airplane mid-flight but only one man notices. Or a man wakes up and the town is completely deserted. All this usually takes place in small-town America. Famous for Rod Sterling's monotone voice-over.

I've watched a handful of episodes recently and they're pretty hit and miss, but the classic ones definitely justify the show's following. If Nolan decides to direct I'd imagine he'd drop the campy aspects and focus on the show's unnerving, dark tone.

I said this in chat but I'll reiterate it here, I don't see any benefit Nolan would have in directing/writing this film. He'd have to write within the limits of the franchise title and conventions (yes, there are some), thus, I see absolutely no reason this is a good idea.

Any story he has would be better served if he, like Vak said above me, had total creative control and could write whatever he'd like.

It's only a studio wish list and I'm sure both Cuaron and Nolan is on a lot of these lists. Don't think Nolan will do it, but if he does, then I'm sure it will be gold.

As Guillermo del Toro said; Nolan and Cuaron are the new macdaddys of big budget films.

A 'Twilight Zone' project for a director like Nolan is a small project. And, if he decides to touch the project, I am sure he will turn it to gold. But, I agree with Teddy who posted few pages back, I rather see Nolan working on a original script based on his own idea.

I agree. I think this would actually be a step backward for Nolan.

Vader you just love to read my mind don't you?

Twilight Zone is a classic SF show and a landmark in tv history. IMHO, it would be a great fit with Nolan's work so far. Is Nolan a TZ fan? If he is, he probably would be interested in helming the movie adaptation.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

THIS so, so MUCH! I really love it and I could understand why Nolan would love it too. If even Disneyland could make something amazing out of it (such as the tower of terror) then I can't even imagine what Nolan would make out of it!

Moreover, as said in this explanation the fifth Dimension is meant to be something which could be real... Or not... It concerns science somehow. I don't know, I can't even imagine how awesome it would be if Nolan did something out of it 8-)

When I first saw this, my first thought was that Nolan shouldn't go anywhere near this. That he should do something original.

Then I saw that they were also considering Michael Bay and thought that Nolan should be insulted and turn the project down based on that alone.

But then, we are talking about Christopher Nolan. I mean, it's Christopher Nolan for crying out loud. The man could turn the Smurfs into Hollywood gold if he wanted to. So I'm sure if he was interested, he could, and would put his spin on the Twilight Zone and turn it into something special like we've never seen before. If that's what he wants to do, I'm all for it 100%. It's not what I expect him to do, but it would be the best Twilight Zone movie ever made.

But personally I'd love for him to make an original science fiction film. Maybe a western, but given the recent track record of westerns, I don't think he would go that route.

But like I said, he's Christopher friggin Nolan. Anything he touches will be EPIC.

He's probably not gonna do it.
