Then again, even though I'd love to see a Nolan Bond film and he once said its a matter of when not if, I'd still love it if he'd make something on a smaller scale next. As in, a budget below $100 million lol

Never been so excited about a Nolan film as with Dunkirk now, and I've been incredibly excited ever since I was aware of his work
is this because you've seen/know more than us (since you were an extra in Urk)?

But yeah I think he wants to choose the next Bond himself. Tom Hardy would be cool

He won't do it. He turned down directing Star Wars so why would he do a Bond flick.

He should keep his art pure. There are literally no benefits for Nolan in doing one.

Nolan doing Bond could be great if he could reinvent it in the same way he did The Dark Knight. Like, a completely new Bond that becomes iconic. Problem is that he's such a Bond fan that Bond usually makes it into his movies. And Skyfall is already Nolan inspired. It'd at once be him being held back by the restraints of a Bond film, and also him elevating it to a level of artfulness that the series has rarely touched.

So, maybe, idk.

That too of course! God I can't wait to see all those scenes we shot!!! and spotting myself is going to be bizarre lol

Tbh, I just can't picture Hardy as Bond. As fantastic an actor he is, it feels wrong know what I mean?

@MyCocaine: I don't think turning down Star Wars is the same as turning down Bond for him. Sure, Star Wars is bigger and all that but you can't argue that Bond isn't closer to his work than Star Wars, which is one of the reasons why I think he'd want to do it. Again, he even said it's a matter of when not if. Then again, it's another question if he still thinks about it that way now and again, given his past work, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he did.
Sure, I'd rather see him making original films, not bounded by a franchise and it's ingredients (so to speak) but on the other hand, the sooner he makes it the sooner he can cross that off his list as well and move on know what I mean :P
On top of that, if he does make the next Bond film, we all know it could rival Casino Royale or at least that's what I'd hope for

This. Nolan hasn't done a rather small movie since The Prestige. I'd like to see such a $40 million movie with a runtime of only 2 hours next, probably even in 2018 (The Prestige also was released the year following BB).

Because Bond is far more of his style than Star Wars, actually. He can make a strong drama/thriller out of Bond, while in Star Wars universe it's pretty hard because of the limits of the already existing world and all this fantasy elements.

Plus Nolan has said himself he's considered doing Bond before. He never considered SW though.

I hope Nolan and Villeneuve make Bond films with the next Bond actor, he should count himself lucky already lol

I don't see it happen, but there are a lot of video games out there with great stories that I think would fit him well. Like Half-Life, Bioshock, Fallout, Borderlands etc. Some of these games (if not all) has some insanely great, mindfuckable plot twists. And that's all I want at this point. More Memento and The Prestige.
