It wouldn't work. As much as I'd love to see Nolan tackle the story, nobody can re-adapt the book today.MiracleSleeper2 wrote:I'd love to see him direct a film adaption of 1984.
The Films Nolan should direct
Curious, what makes you think that?BlairCo wrote:It wouldn't work. As much as I'd love to see Nolan tackle the story, nobody can re-adapt the book today.MiracleSleeper2 wrote:I'd love to see him direct a film adaption of 1984.
Because the original book was written an alternate reality and prediction of the year 1984. The only reason the John Hurt 1984 exists was because they were shooting it on the same dates as in the novel, making it seem authentic. The only way a re-adaption of 1984 could exist is if they change the name and time setting of the novel.MiracleSleeper2 wrote:Curious, what makes you think that?BlairCo wrote:It wouldn't work. I have suggested it before, but I'll bring it up again.
A Political Satire. A mixture of Dr. Strangelove and In the Loop.
Plot: After a congressman proposes a new controversial bill, he is placed under heavy scrutiny from both the media and his congressional party.
Cast:
Sacha Baron Cohen
Vera Farmiga
Peter Dinklage
Ralph Fiennes
Julie Delpy
Paul Dano
Bill Irwin
Anna Kendrick
Jennifer Ehul
Sharlto Copley
Greta Gerwig

I had a dream in which Nolan had taken Stanley Kubrick´s Napoleon script and made it into a film. Just like he did with his brother script for Interstellar. So after he had made his own Space Odyssey he then went onto make Kubrick´s Napoleon in Lawrence of Arabia style. Epic.
This is a great idea. I'd love to see what Nolan would do with a more comedic script.BlairCo wrote:I have suggested it before, but I'll bring it up again.

However, a Nolan cast would probably have at least a few more actors/actresses from his past films. At least Michael Cane.
Fuck yeah, Cillian Murphy for Winston, He'd be perfect for itMiracleSleeper2 wrote:I'd love to see him direct a film adaption of 1984.
I like how he addresses the proposal of doing a comedy:The Taxman wrote:This is a great idea. I'd love to see what Nolan would do with a more comedic script.
