I feel like back around 2006 he could have made Christopher Nolan's Frankentstein. It would be kinda like The Prestige and it would probably feature folks who were recurring elements in Nolan's films.

An R rated heist movie movie taking place in L.A. It would be a mix of Noir and action. So Heat/The Dark Knight basically but different enough. Maybe a few movies after Interstellar.

A film about life after death. Written by Nolan.
I think this subject would be a great challenge for Nolan after Interstellar.

After watching Nolan's conversation with Richard Donner, I wonder if he's ever actually thought about doing a Black Comedy, because when Donner said he wants to see Nolan do a Comedy, he responded saying "They're all Black Comedies". He also joked earlier about doing a Musical. I do hope Nolan has a little interest in doing something more light.
