Man, this is like in the 90s when it was the best time to be a Star Wars fan. Everyone wanted a Prequel trilogy, rumors flying everywhere. I really do want to see a Batman film with John Blake as Batman or some sort of 'Batman like' character.

But that movies turned out to be totally and utterly crap

Even Alfred and Bruce should be suspects in a murder case Gordon is trying to unravel.

I'd go for something like this but also build up Batman as a menace, via making the narrative follow the point of view of one of the villains (preferably Riddler or Hugo Strange). As Batman does his crusading detective, the villain protagonist tries to work out who he is and how to best him. This perspective will not only strengthen Batman's intimidation but also make him more imposing, helping to make his Justice League role (if it ever comes to fruition) and standing alongside more powerful characters more believable.

Yes... I know that... I'm just saying that I'm getting the same feeling. Not that a John Blake film would suck like the Star Wars prequels, it's just that good and anticipating feeling I had before.

I've always thought it would be cool if it was done like the first Sherlock Holmes, where it's a detective story with still plenty of action, really showing strategy and planning by Bruce. Like, if someone were being held hostage behind a door, he could use a camera device to slide under the door and view the situation, and wait until there was an opening to bust in. Or having something he could slide under a door that shoots smoke/pepper spray bombs over a rooms, stuff sort of like Predator mode in the Arkham series. They kind of did it in Batman Begins, but it wasn't in-depth or showed his actual process and strategy because it was keeping it in the shadows for the reveal.

Sounds interesting enough.
The reboot needs to take the Batman's story in a completely different direction.

Though I don't get why there's a thread about it this early, the reboot should be years away. AND why does the thread title still mention Nolan producing the reboot when we know it ain't gonna happen?

I'd also like to see it done, throughout the course of the new series, Batman slowly no longer being a loner. I mean, in Nolan's series he's basically a loner up till the end of the TDKR. I'd be interested in having them show the protege angle so that, at the end of the new series, that he realizes that he isn't alone any more. Now, I'm not saying to have the entire Bat family there (that'd be waaaaaaay too many people), but realizing that he actually has a family now instead of being basically a complete loner outside of Alfred would be pretty awesome.

I can definitely see this happening. Blake being a heckuva Detective has been established and already set up in TDKR anyways.

I can definitely see the "reboot" with JGL in the lead as Batman/Nightwing going after another deductive genius like the Riddler in the film. I can see Penguin showing up and being a side informant/mob boss/villain type who is an arms dealer who owns the Iceberg Lounge/Club as well. I can also see a Joker copycat villain like Harley Quinn show up in the reboot. Maybe even bring in Hush or bring back the Joker with another actor as Joker who has escaped from Arkham?

It'll be interesting to see JGL transform his body in the next couple of years and become a bit more cut and physically imposing. He has the room to get bigger thats for sure.

The budget for the "reboot" with JGL in the lead will not be as high as Nolans Bat films however, which would be a smart move on WB's part.

I don't see JGL's Batman/Nightwing working alone however, he will need allies. I wonder if Oldmans Gordon, and Freemans Lucious will be around? Will Hathways Selina/Catwoman be around also?

So many possibilities.

Not if it is conceived and executed smartly and correctly.

Remember, Nolan will still be involved as a producer of the next Bat film(s).

I am aware that this article represents great speculation, but it is an intriguing proposal.
Still, I would not mind Darren Aronofsky directing the sequel. Conformist opinion, I know.

I can see Aronofsky, Mann, Affleck, Winding Refn and J Nolan considered to the direct the next Bat flick.
