was listening to an episode of Creative Screenwriting podcast that features Jonathan Nolan, little surprised to find out that he actually speaks with American accent.

This is what we know: Jonathan was born in London, England and grew up in Chicago, unlike his brother Chris, who grew up across the Atlantic in UK. Their dad is British and mom is American.

I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it, just a little trivia I want to share you. Still, it's weird to have two siblings that speak different dialects.
(any other examples people? )

(How much of an influence does this have on their working relationship and the screenplays they write together?)

Jonah moved to the States and went to school there, whereas Chris remained in England to go to university. One reason why their accents are so different.

Here's another audio interview with Jonah from 2006 where he's asked about his accent.

It's a good interview, well worth a listen.

He took some stick at his Chicago school for his English accent so adopted an American one.

that's really interesting ...

There are certain parts of that podcast where you hear Jonathan's "English tinge."
If she plays cranium she gives good brainium.

It's common knowledge that they both have British, as well as American nationality. The difference between them, is that Christopher is more like British-American, while Jonathan is more American-British.
David emerges from the store slowly. He braces himself against a parked car and then keeps on walking in a nightmarish daze.

WE PULL BACK as David blends in with dozens and dozens of ordinary people, walking on an ordinary street, in an ordinary city.
