Don't you hate it when people refer to us as "Nolanites"?

A good friend of mine once said "The Avengers is a movie. The Dark Knight Rises is a film." Truer words were never spoken.

Or more appropriatly, The Avengers is a comicbook movie. TDKR is a film.

When I said "beat", I meant in terms of Box Office sales.

However, yes, this statement is also true in terms of being a better movie.

I'll agree to that. Whilst The Avengers is an awesome movie, it really is stuck in too much of an unrealistic "comic book" world. The entire time I couldn't stop contrasting Loki to Nolan's villains. I honestly felt no threat from Loki, like Ra's, Joker, and Bane do. With those villains, you know bad shit is going to happen. With Loki? Not so much. I guess that's just another contributing factor to the realistic world Nolan has created.

At least we're not Beliebers. Or Twihards. Or Avatards.

I admit I can be something of a fanboy as I love all of Nolan's films, yet at the same time I have doubts about every single one.

Batman Begins: "Oh great, a Batman movie. Sorry Dad, but Batman and Robin is awful. I ain't got time for- Oh wow, would you look at that."
The Dark Knight: "There's no way this is going to live up to the hype. And I know I should respect the dead but I'm not too sure if Heath Ledger will- what's that sound?"
Prestige: "So he made a slow placed drama set a century ago? Doesn't sound like a blockbuster director can- Yes, I am watching closely."
Memento: "So, his first film with an actual budget? Eh, I haven't seen Following but I get the feeling this will show a real lack of experie- Yes, tell me about your condition."
Inception: "Okay, I came all the way to London for this one. I'm tired and there's a crying baby in the theater. Maybe those critics I heard were right in saying this would be too confusing. Oh man, don't tell me this is going to be extremely pretentious and- I am in love."
The Dark Knight Rises: "Okay, seriously. This is going to be a disappointment, there's no way possible this not fall flat. It'll probably be decent, maybe even pretty good but there is no way in Hell this is going to be a success."

Still waiting on that last one.

I just believe in Nolan's abilities. I cut out the middle man that way.

I've never read or heard the term before.

But if someone hurled that at me on the street I'd puff up with pride myself.

I agree/disagree. I have never doubted a Nolan film since The Prestige. But, I can see what you mean. And yes at least we aren't Twihards Avatards or Belibers
