I had actually seen Memento. And I heard about Batman. At some point I heard Batman was being done by the guy who did Memento. He wasn't Chris Nolan to me at the time, just the guy who did Memento. And I thought okay whatever. I was intrigued but it didn't really excite me. So I saw Begins and my brother and I actually looked over at each other asking if we were in the right film cause this couldn't be a batman movie. I remember that movie more clear than any movie I've ever seen in a theater cause when it was over I just couldn't believe someone made a Batman film that good.

After that I had to know who this guy was. So I saw Following and Insomnia. But truthfully I don't think I became a dedicated Nolanfan till I saw The Prestige. Because it was at that point I realized this guy just knew how to make a great fucking movie. After that I had all confidence in TDK and the rest is history.

It's not just that he's good at what he does. He continues to tell stories that I am personally invested in. I don't know what streak of luck it is or how the universe aligned to make this happen. But this guy is unbelievable to me. And I hope if it's not Chris that everyone has that director or writer or whatever telling the stories that they want to hear. His movies really are my favorite.

I had seen Memento a long time ago, and had no idea it was directed by Nolan, I remember thinking wow..what an interesting movie. Then I saw The Prestige and then The Dark Knight..and then Inception.. I went back and watched Insomnia...I love his work, he never ceases to amaze me. Loved The Dark Knight, was captivated by The Prestige and Inception blew me away. I had yet to see Batman Begins, I actually saw The Dark Knight first ( I know shocking) but he's incredible, been a fan for a long time and will continue to be:-) His ability to be honest with his work and create mind blowing and thought provoking material and tell amazing stories never ceases to amaze me.

Good Lord, I'm probably going to sound like an utter noob...

My parents made me watch The Prestige 4 years ago this week (I believe). Then Dad took me to see The Dark Knight, and...yeah, fell in love with it completely. It was also the first time I'd ever paid attention to the technical aspects of filmmaking (in that case, dialogue and music). I bought Batman Begins on DVD because I hadn't seen it. It all took place within a 4-month period, and because I need sufficient evidence to weigh up/ determine whether I like/ love the oeuvre of someone who works in entertainment, I realised then that I really liked this guy's work. It wasn't til Inception came out that I realised that he was my favourite director due to the consistant high quality that I'd seen (I've seen Memento and Insomnia is on next Tuesday, so I'm going to record that). Heh. :D

By watching Batman Begins, then Insomnia, The Dark Knight on opening day, follow by the Prestige and now, I'm looking forward to his final chapter of his Batman trilogy-The Dark Knight Rises

I think the first Nolan film I saw in theaters was the Dark Knight. My brother was telling me how good of a movie it was so he took me to see it but I thought it was pretty boring. Then again I was pretty young at the time.

I became a Nolan fan after Inception, a movie I've probably seen 5 or 6 times by now.
It was an intelligent and original film unlike the majority of the ZOMG 3D REBOOTZ crap that was coming out at the time.

Since then I've re-watched his Batman films and now understand and love them.
Inception is my favorite film with The Dark Knight being the best superhero one.

However the only Nolan films I've seen outside of those 3 would be Insomnia so I'm still a noob.
I'm sure I'll see a few more this month one of them being TDKR which I already have a midnight ticket for.
