actually he does he used to build cars back in the day and idk if you noticed but trailers are like big cars

You remember the story about the guy that looks up first in the teaser trailer for Dunkirk? Nolan saw the guy (at the auditions or so I think?) and he supposedly immediately said to Emma: "That's the guy from the teaser".

So he definitely has an idea of how his trailers should look like, but I have no idea if he actually edits them himself.
