It's actually nothing much. My family is from Palakkad, Kerala (so we speak Malayalam), but settled in Chennai (so we all learnt to speak Tamil). But I was born and brought up in Abu Dhabi ( so I learnt and later forgot Arabic & some French too ). And I went to college in Delhi and I'm still here, so I know Hindi very well.

That's still a mighty accomplishment though. How many expats I know that lived a large portion of their lives in the UAE and never bothered to learn Arabic.
