"The server that ran the time clock software would lock up in the middle of the night and I would have to get to work and hit the reset button before everyone else showed up so people could start clocking in. I mounted a shelf on the front of the rack and placed a PC in front of the server, lining up the CDROM with the reset button. I would check the server remotely and if it was unresponsive I would RDP to the PC and eject the CD drive, resetting the server. That went on for a couple of weeks until the new hardware arrived."
