Penn State Rape Scandal

Post DoubleD November 10, 2011, 7:05 pm

With the latest reports claiming that Sandusky may have pimped out these boys to high dollar donors, I was wondering what everyone though about the situation. Do you think Penn State has done enough by firing Joe Paterno?

Personally to me, it's one of the most disgusting, sickening, horrible crimes I've ever heard about. I think they need to send Sandusky and anyone who commited such crimes straight to the death chamber. I think they were right in firing Joe Pa since it appears he didn't do enough to bring light to the situation. But I also don't think Penn State has quite done enough since Mike McQueary is still apart of the staff. He needs to be fired with the rest of them.

They did the right thing by firing JoePa, but the fact that nobody knew about Sandusky unless they read the Grand Jury Trial baffles me. People heard Penn State sex scandal and saw that it dealt with the athletic department and everyone targeted JoePa. Sandusky and other had sex with these kids, gave and received oral... It's absolutely horrific and Penn State is in for it. Sandusky was brought to light today with the article about him pimping kids but last night when they were rioting at Penn State, everyone was putting the blame on the head coach. Granted he knew of everything (or mostly everything) but I won't judge him until he's guilty in court.

Didn't Paterno report the, at the time, rumors, to his superior?

Yes but he clearly did not do enough.

He should have reported it to the police.

Weren't they just rumors at the time? He didn't have any evidence aside from hearsay from a student, and if they turned out to be false he could have destroyed a man's career and reputation. In his situation, given what I know about the events, I would have done the same thing- reported it to my superior trusting him to look into it.

It was not a student. It was an assistant coach that reported the incident to him in which he walked into Sandusky raping a little boy in the team locker room shower.

I'm not going to sit here and say I read the full Grand Jury Report, but I'm 95% sure in the report it says Paterno saw with his two eyes Sandusky taking a shower with a little kid.
