Controversial. If they feel that indefinite detention is fine then I'm not that bothered, as long as they don't abuse it... but torture? That would be too far.

Idefinite detention without trial is a signature feature of an unlawful dictatorship. As is torture. These are no-gos in a state under the rule of law.

I'm not sure if you're from America or not, but our Constitution says that all citizens have the right to a fair and speedy trial. This is clearly unconstitutional and grossly immoral.

In fact I phrased that wrong - indefinite detention is bad - what I'm not particularly bothered with is them putting people in holding for like a day but detaining them properly without trial is wrong.
