Apple is a meticulous marketing manipulation operation. Its products are, generally, already antiquated in hardware and software by release, and other products, that aren't a limited lock-in through its operating systems and apps stores, can be bought cheaper. I don't even think all the products, after the original iPod, are a good design aesthetically.

I don't have anything against Jobs though; he was a master marketer. Like a jeans wearing bespectacled hypnotist he convinced everyone to make his company a money monster, and it worked -- that's impressive.
