What's going on with the Murdoch's

So I've noticed that the Murdoch's have been in the news lately but I don't really know what's going on since I haven't followed the story from the beginning. Can someone please provide a summary of what's been going on?

Apparently his publication was accused and found guilty of following and "stalking" various personalities including senators, business-men, actors, singers etc. intercept their phone-calls illegally and so on... quite a big deal...

Some sort of Illegal media C.I.A. ... The problem is... It's not only Murdoch who does that... And he didn't do it alone :lol:

For a while now there have been continued reports of hacking into the voice mail messages of famous people. There has been lots of lawsuits and pay outs to the victims. Whilst this got lot of coverage the public weren't really that bothered about it since they were just famous people.

This all changed when it was found out that someone working for one of his newspapers in the UK (News of the World) hacked into the voicemail of a murdered teenage girl. They also deleted some of the voicemail messages, which led the parents to believe she still alive because they thought the girl had deleted them. There was huge public outrage and the advertisers soon started pulling adverts from the publication. The publication closed after 168 years and resulted in over 200 job losses. It was one of the biggest selling newspapers in the world.

They have also been accused of hacking into the voicemails of wives of dead soldiers and families of people who died in the 7/7 terrorist acts in London.

The whole situation is vast, complicated and involves so many different people and organisations.

The Met police commissioner resigned after the scandal was exposed, people are assuming that there's been some corruption on the police force to do with it I think. Though personally, I don't care about these things that much.

And damn! That is pretty messed up. Hacking into the voice mails of a dead girl? Don't these people have shame? All this just for news? Makes one question the state of the media today. Hacking overall is just unprofessional and in poor taste no matter who it is.

Welcome to the Uk press industry. they'll do anything to sell their papers. To be honest they are not the only ones doing it... they have been singled out... and its totally because Murdoch wanted to takeover bskyb

Welcome, to the REAL world. A lot of people will be charged in the wake of this.
And do you think it is a coincidence the whistleblower is now DEAD? And it is ofc reported as "nothing" suspicous about it..yea right.

And Murdoch owns them ALL actually. (more or less)! So a majority of them all, will fall.
