which is.... a possibility, I guess
I'm assuming we will live to see 2020 lol
guess the democrat front runners are biden, sanders and warren?
Well, I'm not pro-Trump or anti-Trump ( but relationship between Poland and US were never better than now, so I'm looking at his re-election from a different angle), but generally US Presidents are re-elected. He must be a total distaster, but if I'm not mistaken the economy is pretty good right now. Did something crucial happened during his presidency? No. Those who hate him, still do, and I don't think it increased.
So, Trump probably will have 4 more years, I assume.

I wouldn't trust the economic stats on first glance. "New jobs were added" okay but most of those jobs are usually shit retail jobs with no benefits and what not.
We're also expected to have a recession in 5 years. If the recession hits with someone like Trump in office, 2024 is going to be awful.

One of the reasons the Polish-US relationship is good right now is because Poland is also governed by equally if not more despicable, racist and TOTALLY homophobic people. Both parties run on outdated conservative values... but at least Trump has got the economy in decent shape while our supposedly "right-wing" government is making horrendous financial decisions with their tax policies and its distribution.poplar wrote: ↑July 31st, 2019, 10:41 amWell, I'm not pro-Trump or anti-Trump ( but relationship between Poland and US were never better than now, so I'm looking at his re-election from a different angle), but generally US Presidents are re-elected. I agree that he will probably win his re-election but mostly due to the Democrats incompetence and not anything that he's done right. People care about their jobs and their well-being, that's what the last election proved. Sure, Trump was screaming "build the wall" but this was to change the narrative from the ridiculous trickle down economics of the right and rile up the far right and force the left to get riled up over secondary issues for most people. Who the Democrats need to win over are the moderate Trump supporters who voted for him despite his racist comments and in fear of "socialist policies". They should work on explaining how rich socialist countries like Sweden or Finland prosper in Europe and highlight the benefits of these systems for the voters. Propose real financial benefits, job growth ideas. They won't win them over by pointing out that Trump is racist. Everybody knows this already and they don't care. Until they have a job (or Trump actually murders a minority person on camera) this is a secondary issue for most people.

Speaking of international relations, as a neighbor of Poland, I do NOT want Trump to be re elected. Trump doesn’t give a rat’s ass about Poland, Baltics, or any other country that’s in the hypothetical “danger zone” if a bigger conflict was to emerge. He’d toss us the minute he could. He doesn’t give a crap about his own country. Other, smaller countries esp are just an inconvenience to him.

And quickly going back to Trump's chances, it also doesn't help that the Democrats seem to be having like a billion candidates who bicker and fight with each other in each debate giving Trump more ammunition when they blame one another and give Trump the chance to see what the general public dislikes and what to focus on.
I know the Republicans do the same pre-elections but moral integrity is far less important for right-wing voters than it is for the more morally conscious left-wing voters. Any, even the smallest, moral blunder from a Democratic candidate (looking at you Biden and Warren) can be used by Trump to turn their base against them. The same cannot be said about the Republican base.
