Glad to hear all of that hehe, can't wait!Vader182 wrote: ↑January 18th, 2020, 7:00 pmooh my b. S3 is very very good. the first half goes full hallucinatory art house and completely batty for network TV, the second half becomes almost a red dragon mini-series that, I feel, isn't amazing but solid. the actual series finale is perfect, though.

Both shows got 3 seasons but their final* seasons couldn't be more different from each other.
*Hopefully not.

Uhm... So, I have no idea how you guys survived waiting for s03e01 after that season finale. Magnificent grim poetry.
And we had to wait for 1.5 year for it.

Anyone here a fan of Scott's Hannibal? It's my favorite of the four, uhm, three movies.
Season 3 starters certainly have that dreamlike quality to them.

Oldman alone makes Scott's Hannibal worth watching imo, I mean I do like the film but I think it's a pity they didn't got Foster back. Moore does a fine job on her own though, no discredit to her.
As for this shows Verger, Pitt was amazing.
You didn't like Red Dragon or Hannibal Rising lol?

I'm a bigger fan of Mann' s Manhunter to be honest.
Hannibal Rising has Ulliel and Li so of course
I'm not a fan of Manhunter tbh. I think Red Dragon is insanely entertaining even though Ratner is not that good of a director.
The Silence of the Lambs remains the pinnacle of all these adaptations, followed by this show.

Manhunter is such an 80s movie that it both gives it charm and hendicaps it from being anything more than a lesser entry.
I go back and forth with Hannibal and Lambs. There's something about Scott's Florence direction and addition of Oldman's Verger that gives it extra charm. And I'm one of the rare fans of the book's ending, too bad Foster skipped the sequel cause Moore was pretty close if not better imo, in segments.
Ironically, this series is all out with batshit stretches of characters that actually work in the end.

First part of s03 was tasking, to say the least.
Beautifuly directed by the director of Cell and phantasmagoric, but ultimately de-focused from the exciting narrative of the Florence hunt from the book and I'm almost eager for a more procedural second part now. Ironic, I know, but s02 had that perfect balance between the two worlds. It's a delicate one.
