Yeah that's th thing with typecasting.

In that case, I would personally say that someone like this would be a bad actor, as he can only do a role, but because (if) he can do the role well enough then the performance will be a good one. Sounds confusing, I know.

For example, Tom Cruise mostly plays Tom Cruise. in that aspect, he's bad at his job. But because sometimes he plays Tom Cruise very well I would say he can give solid performances, even if most are similar to each other.
