Goose (played by Anthony Edwards in the first film) will have a presence in the form of his adult son. The three actors who are up for the part are Glen Powell, Nicholas Hoult and Miles Teller. http://collider.com/top-gun-2-gooses-so ... las-hoult/

I hope they cast Powell tbh.

Kinda makes me want to see Kosinskis previous film. Anyone here seen it?

Only the Brave? Phenomenal.

Definitely a departure from his previous films, and probably my favorite Brolin performance.

Yeah, I need to see it too. I loved his last two, he's got a lot of potential. He's got a knack for great visuals and scores. The performances in his movies are all solid but I guess this is the aspect he needs to work on to be more emotionally engaging. A better story than Oblivion wouldn't hurt, either. But if he picks the right material, he'll be good.

Only the Brave is quite an underrated little gem of a movie. It's somewhat trapped by its cliches, but it shows talents from Kosinski that I felt were absent from his first two movies.
