I always mentioned Hawkes as a nominee. Never changed my mind and never will. I'm not a flip-flopper. Hawkes is a candidate. Everyone is saying that.

a candidate....not a lock...youre the one always going about how people are silly when they refer to possible contenders as locks

I have fingers crossed for Joaquin Phoenix personally. That teaser for The Master was the best.

oh he will definitely be nominated, and very likely win...his biggest competition will prob be murray and ddl

I believe that DDL will probably win it. I admit he is my favorite actor, but regardless of the performance he gives, he is playing one of the most influential and most revered historical figures in American history...that will give him a slight edge with the voters.

Uhm no. I never do that. I only told you once that and you know why.

And yes. In my opinion he's a lock. That's why I listed him before many others...

I wasn't referring the "actor being a lock" thing. I was obviously referring to this... "youre the one always going about how people are silly when they refer to possible contenders as locks"

I said that to you because you are known for your subjective take on Hardy.

It's way too early to begin predicting oscar nominees, especially in acting categories. Most years, quite a list of relatively unknown out of left field films come in and garner nearly last minute critical praise, and that can carry over to the oscars, last year being a prime example of that.

I really, really like DDL but I kinda don't want him to win. But I mean if he gives the performance and deserves it, so be it.

Exactly.

You can look back to the early crowing about the likes of Nine and The Conspirator sweeping through the Oscars and be rest assured that we haven't the slightest clue at this stage.
