I seriously doubt Hardy will be nominated. No matter how good a physical performance he gives, I feel like the Academy would be totally blind to it because they would see Bane's mask as a massive obstacle in the way of acting and they would most likely overlook how Hardy might work around it to give an amazing performance.
If she plays cranium she gives good brainium.

True. But then again... That's like my main wish for next year oscars. Hardy to deliver such a good performance that he can't be overlooked. To me... Nolan for Best Director is an almost impossible task...

Yeah I hope so too, we'll also have to deal with the obvious "oh they just nominated Hardy because they nominated Ledger" argument.

I think Nolan has a higher chance of getting a nom than he did in 2011, but I agree that he's up against some big competition.

A lot of love for The Surrogate on your list there. Is it getting positive buzz?

There is a positive buzz and it will continue. I think the story is set to deliver some great performances from the main protagonists. On paper at least, this should be a movie everyone should take in consideration for next year's oscars.

you might be right but i think if they dont nominate him for Bane they will definitely nominate him for Wettest County...he is just about a shoe in...after TDKR there will be so much attention on him, and if the Academy doesn't "get" what he's doing in TDKR they will mask their shame in not understanding it by throwing praise all over his work in Wettest County

the best actor and supporting actor category are going to be one of the best yet

i dont get how you think Gosling will pop up in best actor for Only God Forgives...when has the Academy recognized a role like that?

I'm suspecting Aaron Johnson might take Jude Law's place in Supporting

and Garrett Hedlund can pop up in Best Actor for On the Roads

i have a feeling they will push Leo out of the supporting category, to give Waltz another nod, and consider Leo for best actor in Gatsby
