Solid performances all around, but felt a bit too slight and meandering.

For a mere fifteen million dollars, the filmmaker(s) managed to develop a film boasting more thrilling and well-staged action than many films at least ten times its budget. Despite being mostly well trodden ground, the script stays smart, with well developed characters easy to invest in and care about. The morality play present in the film is effective but veers towards convention too often, like everything else, to become a film with remembering on those merits alone. However, the (mostly) good cast, pretty solid script and great direction form film that's consistently good and often great, I don't see many people being disappointed with realistic expectations.

8.2/10

Was this the DC? I saw that and I really really enjoyed it. Nice small exposition.

I've yet to watch this, I hear it's like Akira but not as good.

This movie obviously isn't one that will cringe for your attention but it's still one of the most memorable action flicks from the 90s. Personally, this is one of my top 10 guilty pleasures of all time. The eroticism in the action movies of the early 90s is unmatched and I honestly prefer this over the full-front nudity that serves no purpose and that we see today in most movies. Then you had the sexiest woman on the planet fighting next to one of the best action stars of that era. Add a beautiful and crispy setting in Miami and you have one hell of a time watching this movie. It's not that flawed as the story is simply not interesting nor the characters well-developed, but the effort the movie puts in establishing a tense, erotic, and fast-paced thriller is worthy of every penny. Hollywood needs a new Sharon Stone and is in a desperate need to create a new formula for the future of eroticism in filmmaking because right now it's in a real dump.

I think you need a personal interest's rating, because obviously you enjoyed watching that film a lot more than 6.7/10 .

I did. My personal interest rating is part of the overall rating as it's 10% of that. My PIR is 8.5. However... I only offer the most objective score I could offer but my PIR is still there. Many people can see my "PIR" when I also show the detailed rating. I don't do it here often so yeah... that could create the confusion between my rating and my short review.

I hope you aren't serious.

I am. Its very well made and hits tge trifecta of comedy, intelkect, and emotion. I was laughing from start to finish. It was pretty interesting to analyze and consider tge theories about the dynamic between men and women and think through their strategies. The characters were well written and i was actually emotionally invested in them.
