I'm done here tonight, that argument was full of bad logic (assuming your emotional reaction to the movie was the same as everyone's else's "sure it had enough emotion") and you're doing what you've accused me of.

The film is "about" many things, but the entire arc of the main character is one of love and loss, with many lingering scenes and shots of him deeply haunted and moved. I guess we're supposed to feel nothing in that myriad of scenes. My mistake.

What was rude about my answer? Because I said "Let me LOL, please?"

Well I gave my arguments and asked you rhetorical questions which in my opinion are already answered. I just don't see how you can say such things about Memento and ignoring a lot of elements that are important?

There was nothing rude in that. I'm just amazed that you don't want to take in consideration every other aspect. You're criticizing Memento for things that are really meaningless. And you're backing everything of with what exactly? I haven't read a detailed answer from you on this one.

So sorry if you thought that "LOL, please" was so... rude. And Memento really isn't about love but if you think it is then I would suggest you to watch the movie again. But of course, you are entitled to think that Memento is about whatever you want. But that's another discussion.

Without going into a massive expanse of details, because films like this don't really deserve my full attention when reviewing, I think, this is a pretty fun ride. The action is very consistent and paced well, which is more than can be said about most movies like this. The cast do their job well, but it's the sort of cast you're used to playing pretty bland characters, in terms of their approach and their execution. Perhaps that's not the best way to explain it, but they just seem all-too familiar, like we've seen a thousand times before (The Hunger Games (I'm not linking, just giving a separate example)). It's a film heavily focused on its genre, more so than its art. It's very typical, and the story is as predictable as you could think, despite whatever they want to try and throw at you. Many of the plot points and turning points are ridiculous, too, so I'll happily label this movie as a "fun, ridiculous, yet bland and predictable clash of artless entertainment." It'll keep you interested, but with a sticky script and a bland story arc, this ain't the sort of movie to visit more than once.

The Muppets - 9.0/10

Great fun, I laughed all the way through. The humor is appeal to both the child and the adult in me.

Can't wait for a sequel.

Altered States (1980) - Ken Russell

Has to be one of the best films I've seen in my entire life. I cannot thank dadosaboya enough. For further info check out this thread: http://www.nolanfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8869&start=20 And for Christ sakes, watch this movie, it's like Nolan/Cronenberg/Lynch on steroids. Reminded me of Jacob's Ladder too.

VERDICT: *****

I was amazed. The less you know the more you'll get from it, complete mindfuck and strongly emotional finale... It's a masterpiece, let's leave it at that. :ugeek:

William Hurt...

Transformed.

50/50

9/10

.. Yeah, wow. I don't know why it took me so long to see this movie but I'm glad I finally got around to watching it. Truly great performances all around, JGL, Bryce, Seth, Anna, even the performance from his mother was great. An emotional roller coaster that went from laugh to cries in a matter of minutes. Kudos to JGL for being able to pull this off, he put everything he had into this role and it really showed.
