Don't get me wrong, I'll see the movie. But this dude has an air of pretentious to his work that feels entirely artificial to me. His films feel like something a first year film school student would make if they had Lubezki as their DP.

Lubezki's name should have been on the same title card as Innaritu. Orson Welles did it on Citizen Kane, but I doubt his ego would allow it. Innaritu gets way to much credit.

I'm still not fully sold on the Leo Oscar talk for this one. Don't get me wrong, I've been wanting him to win one for years, but I'm worried that the presumed level of violence in this is going to turn off Academy members.
