Agreed. for instance I dislike Kubrick's films, but I respect them and know that they are good. But, I like Gladiator over Clockwork because the stuff in clockwork is just disturbing and cruel and there is no need of it. While 2001 and Memento are hard to rate because out of Kubrick's films I liked 2001, but Memento is better plot wise and how it is deliverd. Surprised to see Gladiator get this far - it's a really good film but I didn't know people on this site rated it so highly, above The Godfather, Apocalypse Now and Heat, which all struck me as extremely popular on this site - but it's a good film so whatever.
