So I think we know the drill by now, just post your top 20 movies from this time period and we'll create a bracket from that to work it all out.

Well here's my list to get things going, it was a bit tough to get it down to 20 since this one involves 3 decades of film.

Rebecca
Citizen Kane
Rashomon
On the Waterfront
12 Angry Men
The 400 Blows
The Seven Samurai
M
Gone With the Wind
Casablanca
Shadow of a Doubt
The Most Beautiful
The Best Years of Our Lives
Ikiru
The Wages of Fear
City Lights
Sunset Blvd.
The Night of the Hunter
Ben-Hur
Diabolique

Hopefully we can move this one forward.

I could be wrong, but I almost think it'd be better to split these up (unless you're just gonna deduce from the list which films win for ). But here we go:

Rio Bravo
Bambi
The Adventures of Robin Hood
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad
Singin' in the Rain
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
The Searchers
Pinocchio
The Big Sleep
Casablanca
Fantasia
North by Northwest
The Killing
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Captain Blood
The Wages of Fear
Rear Window
King Kong
It's A Wonderful Life
Stagecoach

I haven't seen many of these period (hence I won't make my list) ma The Wizard of Oz isn't one of the best from 30-59?

Yes it is.
I decided to leave it out (as well as other movies) simply because I thought it would be nominated by others and make it to the competition.

Yeah that's the reason I didn't put Vertigo on my list, I had a few too many I figured it would get plenty of votes.

@ Andrea: Feel free to put some of your favorties from this time period it doesn't matter if you don't have 20.

And if anyone are fans of Hitchcock I recommend you check out Diabolique, he once said he aspired to make a movie as good as it.

I tried to watch it few days ago, but I failed, cause apparently, I was too tired and sleepy and I fell asleep after 15 min. lol
