It's a more convincing cash-in than The Bourne Legacy.

Yeah I'm with you. If you've seen Oldboy and are a huge fan of it then I don't know how I can watch this without comparing or thinking about the original movie the entire time you would watch this. I'm trying to be as open minded as possible because the cast, director, etc I'm big fans of them all.

They've already started filming? This is going to be a very interesting production.

I'm actually rather excited for this mainly because of the Cast and Crew. And Dodd, I agree with you.

I'm going to love this, based on gut feeling and nothing more at this point.
Spike Lee - Josh Brolin, Sharlto Copley and Elizabeth Olsen, so far so good.
Let's hope it's edgy R/almost NC-17.

The hollywoodleak irc just released:
- CONFIRMED CHANGES: Incest plot elements removed from the film. Instead, Marie/Mi-oh is secretly Adrian Pryce/Woo-Jin Lee's sister. Joe/Daesu-Oh harasses her in highschool but ultimately forgets about her.
She attempts suicide and loses her memory from her injuries. She stays in a coma for years. When she wakes up, Brother kidnaps a hypnotists family and forces them to reprogram her brain to fall in love with Joe/Daesu-Oh but to kill him upon a certain event. This is the plot in a nutshell.

- The Hammer scene is much different. It plays out with a katana-style sword instead of a claw-hammer. Info of Josh Brolin taking swordplay classes for this film in the notes.

- The famous "Octopus scene" is still intact. Joe/Daesu-oh goes to a local asian restaurant and is trying to get information out of the chef (in regards to the delivery routes) . The chef tells him the only way he will comply is if he wins the octopus challenge (eating the live octopus). It's supposed to be in more of a comedic tone than the 2003 version.

- Many of the plot points of the film happen over "A popular social networking website" (We can assume something that resembles Facebook)

- The cyber-cafe is now a "Coffee shop"

- Sam Jackson plays the main prison guard seen in the 2003 version. The torture scene has been changed. It wasn't specific, but it involves a katana sword.

SOUNDTRACK INFO:

The main theme to the film will be in the teaser trailer which comes out before the year is over. Rumors are that the title track includes artists Lil' Wayne and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins.

RUNTIME/TECHNICAL INFO: 90 minutes. Going for an R rating by the MPAA

(EDIT): -- MORE INFORMATION BELOW -- (MORE SPOILERS)

- The infamous tongue scene has been changed slightly. Joe has a tongue ring that he gets upon his release. He pulls it through his tongue and throws it at the ground before the climactic rooftop katana-sword fight. The intent of the scene is to show the audience that Joe no longer feels pain nor fear.

- More hip hop/rap artists have been signed on to do the soundtrack as well. Names will be out soon. So far only Lil Wayne, T-Boz, and T Pain have appeared in documented listings.

Teaser trailer coming out before the end of 2012!

Completely different viewpoint on Oldboy (2013) script - this one says all the main themes are intact:

No incest - no play. If they removed the fact that she's his daughter, it won't work. Hopefully they didn't.

Edit: Apparently, Mark Protosevich did the draft for this one so anything goes.

I'm still not sure about this, and those pictures aren't doing anything for me.
