Christian Bale is considering playing the villain.

I'm not sure how well this will play with American audiences.

Since I first heard about this, I hated the idea. Why remake something that is so special and unique in the first place.

Because it hasn't been Americanized.

At one point, they wanted Spielberg to direct it and Will Smith to star in it.

All I can say is

Vader ain't gonna like this.

I was never into asian movies; I haven't seen Oldboy and never had the incentive to change that, but with Bale in the cast I would even watch a remake of Twilight But let's see, he hasn't signed yet.

Wasn't this announced weeks ago? At least they're looking into some inspired casting. They're thinking of Josh Brolin as the main character, too. I really, really hope this doesn't get made.
