As I have said before, TWBB is certainly a well made film overall with a great performance by DDL, but it has never reached me the way it has most other people. Looking forward to The Master.
I agree 100%. Magnolia is probably my 2ND Favorite followed by TWBB.

Today I watched three PTA films back-to-back, finishing with a first-time viewing of Sydney/Hard Eight. I officially have a new all-time favorite director.

In order:

1. Magnolia
2. There Will Be Blood
3. Punch Drunk Love
4. Sydney
5. Boogie Nights

..I wonder how many people who voted There Will Be Blood have even seen Magnolia. TWBB is amazing and all, but Magnolia is without a doubt his masterpiece. PTA even confessed that Magnolia was the greatest film he was ever going to make. I believe him.

Boogie Nights was entertaining, but fairly.. shallow, in comparison with his later works. PTA has since defined himself as a director who's willing to shamelessly explore the dark and bizarre side of religion and spirituality, and looks like The Master will be much of the same. Most anticipated film release of the YEAR.
