The Elephant Man... easily.

Damn "Dune" is such a great book... but the film was a mess...

Mulholland Dr. is intelligent but as an overall movie it has it's flaws...

Blue Velvet is a perfect combination between dark character study and mainstream execution.

Eraserhead is incredibly atmospheric and "demonic" but it's hard to reach the status of a great movie.

The other were either good or ... so and so.

Lynch either has cult films or average films. He has only one mainstream success and that is The Elephant Man... which is his best movie as far as content and execution.

Mulholland Drive is my favourite... but I do love dennis hoppers performance in Blue Velvet... but My favourite David Lynch thing is Twin Peaks... that was a great TV series while it lasted.
