Lawless will be premiering in Cannes! YAY! It’s in official competition.

And it is, apparently, 1 h 55 mins long.

This means we’ll soon get a LOT more news about the film. It means it’s been deemed good enough for competition (a quality check in itself) and who knows, maybe Tom will show up at the Croisette for the gala premiere. Here’s hoping. The festival takes place on May 16-27.

Saw Lawless back in November, when it was still called Wettest County. Great stuff, another cannon in Hillcoat's filmography, and Guy Pearce has never ever been better before, but boy will that performance be polarising!! Some will think its too over the top a la Bugs Bunny on acid, or love the charisma that Pearce manages to bring to the screen.
