I started my rewatch recently and it made me realize just how little I remember about the earlier seasons, and how impossible it would be for me to rank the seasons until I rewatched all of it.

It's exciting to experience the show somewhat-fresh again.

Season 8 so high???? Why???
Well, two thirds of the season are Sapochnik masterclass, episode 2 was great, Dawajadi was on fire. And also, I tend to like endings more than most people, when the script can rely on what has been done before and focus on the payoffs. I love Star Wars 3, The Godfather 3, TDKR, as much as any other film in their respective franchise (not that I don't see that they have much more flaws than SW 4&5, Godfather 1&2, TDK, but still, their flaws in plot are more than compensated by the emotions they deliver for me. Same goes with season 8.
