I really want to watch this film. From what I've heard, this is like Goodfellas. That being the case, and with Joker looking at Taxi Driver and King of Comedy for inspiration, I wonder whether Scorsese has now achieved peak cinematic impact. I mean, I always liked Scorsese's body of work but for some reason I ever thought he was on the same level as, say, Hitchcock in terms of serving as direct inspiration for the ways in which stories are being told.
