That’s like saying ‘I’d rather watch Platoon/Full Metal Jacket/Deer Hunter’ after seeing trailer for Apocalypse Now.
Or, it’s just a pretentious way of saying you’ve seen another classic that undoubtedly inspired this.
but didn’t you know there can be only one movie made for ‘x’ thing?

Looks fantastic and I didn't even know Will Poulter is in this. Hereditary is one of the best films of last year so this is a must watch for me. I just hope it's a better sophomore film to a great horror than David Robert Mitchell's. I also love the idea of a brightly lit horror film. It adds the creepiness factor and I'm really hoping for the film to be screened with white bars for some reason.

My bf read the leaked screenplay. Click the spoilers if you dare!
He said Midsommer is a lot more violent and occultish compared to Hereditary. He also says that Misommer is less focused than Hereditary and that Midsommer also has a lot more horror elements too.
The trailer has got me pumped. I can't wait to see this.
