i don't think Yates is that bad - his visual aesthetic is basically the identity of most of the Potter films, and now the Beast films

he was directing from the most inconsequential screenplay of all time in the second Beasts movie

Yates is typically as good as his cinematographer.

Which is to say, get Delbonnel back and you might have something. The problem is Delbonnel won't come back.

Rousselot hasn't done anything impressive since maybe 2005.

Yates' Harry Potter films were mostly drained of colour and boring to look at.

Kloves ruined Ron Weasley.

Maybe, given the continuous pushbacks, they have to get another DoP because Rousselot's schedule might not allow it? I mean right?
