Pre-ordered Blops IIII after seeing some raw/no commentary footage of multi. Loved Blops 3 so it’s a day one for me; they’re switching to Siege/Overwatch sort of gameplay and self healing extends playtime even further. Like what I’ve seen so far. I can see it being fresh and fun for months without even touching Zombies or Battle Royale. Biggest shocker? No DLCs.

I also like what Treyarch is doing with Black Ops 4. The smaller teams in mp actually has me more interested in the mp more than the other COD games.

Glad to see people appreciating Treyarch's COD games. They really have been doing some awesome work with their titles, especially compared to Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer. Definitely getting BO4, the reveal was really, really good. And finally they're giving love to the PC community, which was just a great finishing touch.

Are any of you familiar with the storyline within the Zombies mode in Treyarch's games? If not I highly recommend checking it out. It's nost just a standard horde mode/survival game mode, underneath lies a truly amazing story arch that started in 'World at War' and is still going strong today. It's pretty much the most intricate story I've ever experienced in a video game series.

I’m familiar it has a story arc but, most intricate... in comparison to what, Metal Gear, Bloodborne?

It's not a story that's linearly told through a beginning and end of a game like you're used to. You have to play about 20 different Zombie-mode maps and do stuff like listen for audio clues, look at text written on walls, translate ciphers, play as different characters to hear what they're talking about and complete hidden easter eggs to fully pick up on the storyline. There are also short comic book stories that exopand on everything.

Just playing the regular zombies mode trying to survive the endless hordes does literally nothing.

But not only is the narrative technique very complicated, but the actual story is filled with tons of layers as well, taking on themes like alien invation, worldwide conspiracies, divinity, time-travel and multiverse. On top of that the story is captivatingly great.

There is an 11 hour long audio log-type series on Youtube uncovering the whole timeline from start to finish. Obviously there's a lot in there that's not very relevant to the main story, but it still paints a picture about the scale of the whole world. The lore is truly epic.

And, Nolan North voices the main character (pretty much). Which is delightful.

Or, you can comment on my post and understand the details. Basically, I have two folders on my PS: f2p/multi/chill and single player. Blops 3 gave me 100+ hours so I’m sure it will be money well spent. Treyarch usually does something that appeals to my shooter taste, I don’t care about Sledgehammer or Infinity Ward. Or Battlefield. And my favorite multi game is Overwatch. Also, people don’t realize how much content you get with Treyarch games. Multi mode alone gives you tons of stuff to do from the get go. In a world where EA locks vanilla content behind paywall that’s a gift.

Why not? It’s literally the same thing with added benefit - I’ll play the closed beta first. So there’s that small window where I can actually cancel the preorder after they send the beta key if I think it truly sucks. And I know it won’t cause it’s continuation of Specialists play from the previous one, minus wall jumps which I sucked at anyway.
