The directors were seeded in alphabetical order and then I made adjustments so that no one manager would have two teams in the same match until the finals.

Round 1

Match 1 Darren Aronofsky (#1fan) vs. Robert Zemeckis (natalie)
Match 2 Kryzystof Kieslowski (theweatherman) vs. Frank Darabont (MrG)
Match 3 Francis Ford Coppola (RIFA) vs. Roman Polanski (Vasticity)
Match 4 Werner Herzog (kanjisheik) vs. David Lynch (micool)

Match 5 Danny Boyle (Steveportee) vs. Akira Kurosawa (bLaZe)
Match 6 David Fincher (allstar55js) vs. Michael Mann (Teddyblass)
Match 7 Clint Eastwood (dagn96) vs. Kevin Smith (thenextnolan)
Match 8 Coen brothers (discoveringuy) vs. Martin Scorsese (IwatchFilmsNotMovies)

Match 9 PT Anderson (micool) vs. Orson Welles (rbevanx)
Match 10 Peter Jackson (Cilogy) vs. Steven Spielberg (theweatherman)
Match 11 Stanley Kubrick (Steveportee) vs. Hayao Miyazaki (natalie)
Match 12 Alfred Hitchcock (kanjisheik) vs. Sergio Leone (RIFA)

Match 13 Robert Altman (discoveringuy) vs. Quentin Tarantino (Mr. Caine)
Match 14 Mel Brooks (thenextnolan) vs. Sam Mendes (Teddyblass)
Match 15 Tim Burton (bruce_angier) vs. M. Night Shyamalan (Rohan)
Match 16 James Cameron (NothingButM) vs. Ridley Scott (Dark Nolan)

It is now up to all of the managers to send me a pm of your first round film pick for your directors and remember you can only use a film once in the first four rounds so pick wisely. Please PM your choice, no reason your opponent should have advantage by being able to pick against a specific film.

When all the films are picked I will post this list again with the films included and have the date range when voting will take place so that you can watch any films that you haven’t by then.

That you do, but he does not have many films which means the first round one may be far from his best.

There are some interesting matchups in this first round

Coen/Scorsese could be an upset match depending on how their managers play this.
I also like that Scott and Cameron ended up getting matched together; Alien battle anyone?
Hitchcock/Leone should be very interesting
Spielberg and Jackson should be fun

Hitchcock vs leone is interseting.
"All this 'good vs evil' shit's been played out. It's now time for 'BAD VS. EVIL'

-David Ayer on Suicide Squad.

It all depends on what film gets picked. Coppola only has a few that are universally loved and even they may lose to some of Polanski's best.

I'll publicly announce my picks right here in this thread, in the hope that my directors could get more attention, therefore more likely to win.

(If theweatherman is fine with that, I'll go ahead with my plan :) )

That's fine with me, it just gives your opponent the advantage of basing his picks off of yours.

And yes this is single elimination March Madness style.

I'd also like to restate some rules from the first thread.
One film per round for the first four
three films for the final round

You cannot repeat a film in the first four rounds
You may reuse two films amongst the final three.
