2017 had a slew of great cinema but what about the bad.
Today, I am here to give you what I considered the absolute WORSE movies of 2017. Like these movies have gone from being bad pieces of crap to actual endurance tests that were painful as hell.
The only truly bad film I witnessed last year was Valerian And The City Of A Thousands Whatevers. Such a boring, un-charismatic heavy handled CGI mess.
Though personally I’ve never rated Luc Besson particularly highly and yet I’ve always had a fondness for 5Th Element (mainly its Art design), which was largely the reason I was intrigued initially by Valerian.
What a waste of time that was.
Alien Covenant was possibly the most underwhelming viewing of last year based on hype alone.
Other than that I generally avoid films which gather a rather high percentage of bad reviews (Hey I’m a sucker for a good critical review and flashy star ratings from the few critics I respect).
Oh most of what you mentioned I wouldn't even consider bad. Average, disappointing, some of them were even good.
For me it's clear - it was The Bye Bye Man. But I've also need to mention:
- Batman and Harley Quinn
- xXx: Return of Xander Cage
- Leatherface
These are the four bad movies of the year that I've seen (and I have been avoiding most stinkers). The other ones were either meh or a letdown but not really that terrible.
