Most notably I'm still missing Venom and El Royale.

Good movie. Nothing out of the ordinary but I enjoyed it. Would probably give it like a 7.5/10

What I got so far:

I suspect everything south of American Animals will get shunted off by the end of the year. If American Animals and anything north of it goes then it's a very very good year indeed.

Updated with two months left to go. 2018's been great. Can't wait for Beale Street and Burning.

this far into the year I don't like posting my list cuz suspense, and also since I have so little left to see, BUT

Roma is easily the best movie this year. I'll be floored if anything tops it. That screening at CIFF was something special.

it's weird that an Orson Welles film just entered my top ten... in 2018

Most likely to end up in top ten, no particular order: Suspiria, You Were Never Really Here, Annihilation, The Sisters Brothers, First Man, A Star is Born, Freres Ennemis, First Reformed, A Prayer Before Dawn, Mission Impossible - Fallout, The Rider, The Death of Stalin, Lean on Pete, Cold War, Beautiful Boy, Widows
Next in line: The Guilty, Utøya - 22 Juli, Incredibles 2, A Quiet Place, The Man who Killed Don Quijote, Tully, Isle of Dogs, Blackkklansman, Don't Worry He Won't Get Far On Foot.

Other 2018 released films I've seen which haven't and highly likely won't end up in the top 10. In no particular order:
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
The Wife
Gräns
Halloween
The Old Man and the Gun
Ocean's Eight
Love, Simon
Operation Finale
Crazy Rich Asians
Outlaw King
Venom
The Meg
Hereditary
Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
Avengers Infinity War
Black Panther
Niemand in de Stad
The Happy Prince
Tomb Raider
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Mary Magdalene
Rampage
Solo A Star Wars Story
Red Sparrow
Deadpool 2
Unsane
Ready Player One
Den of Thieves
The Commuter
The Outsider
Figlia Mia

And I still got a whole lot to see.

Fuck... This astounding second half of 2018 certainly makes up for that vanilla first half.
