http://www.tracking-board.com/mark-ruff ... h-is-true/Mark Ruffalo is setting his return to HBO with a starring role in I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE, a new miniseries based on the Wally Lamb book of the same name, from writer-director Derek Cianfrance.
Ruffalo will executive produce and star in dual roles in the series, which is described as an epic family saga that explores the American identity following the parallel lives of twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey throughout the latter half of the 20th century.
Cianfrance will write, direct and executive-produce all eight episodes, with Ruffalo and Lamb also serving as EPs, along with Ben Browning & Glen Basner for FilmNation Entertainment.

Even though I didn't like The Light Between Oceans nearly as much as I would've hoped to, I'm in for Cianfrance.
EDIT: Oh, and HBO.

Derek Cianfrance, writer-director of the HBO limited series “I Know This Much Is True,” has set a two-year overall deal with HBO.
Middle-aged Dominick Birdsey recounts his troubled relationship with Thomas, his paranoid schizophrenic twin brother, and his efforts to get him released from an asylum.
I'm surprised no one has talked about this yet, looks amazing.

Read a couple of reviews, seems like great acting with a slow pace but really, really depressing story. I'll likely check it out, but real life is so depressing enough already.

Love Derek Cianfrance, I think Blue Valentine is a masterpiece, but yeah, the guy makes James Gray look like a comedy writer.
Light between oceans had mixed reviews, and I still thought it was very good, so I don't care too much about the reviews.
Just watched the first two episodes..

I watched the first two episodes, and I've seen bits and pieces from other episodes from flipping channels to HBO. Ruffalo is acting his ass off, but the whole show is too fucking depressing, especially right now. It almost seems comical in it's sadness porn
I just finished episode 3, and it got heavier. My god man.. why do I like this shit
