Can I take this opportunity to say that while it's nice (in theory) that a batman villain gets his/her own movie, I kinda get tired seeing the Joker everywhere because we know his shtick at this point: nihilism makes for much funny says man in clown makeup.

Batman has like the best villains in superhero comics. A Poison Ivy, Hugo Strange, Bane, etc. origin story would provide so much leeway and thematic richness for an interesting story, simply because these characters have lots of room for exploration. The Joker has been thoroughly explored at this point.

I agree. I don't think this movie is going to reinvent the wheel when it comes to the Joker. I would love to see other rogues get the spotlight.
